Pilosebaceous Units is found in all of our skin, this Pilosebaceous Units are consisting of a Sebaceous gland connected to a canal which is known as Follicle having a thin hair. Pilosebaceous Units found in hug amount on face, neck, back and chest. The sebaceous glands make an oily substance which called sebum that is empted on the surface of your skin through the follicle or in general terms called pores. There are cells know as keratinocytes which are in line to follicle.
The sebum, hair and keratinocytes that fill up almost all the narrow follicle may produce a blockage due to dust particles or some other factors. This blockage of follicle prevents the sebum from reaching the skin surface. This blocked mixture of sebum and cells allows the bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes to grow in the blocked follicles. This collection creates enzymes and chemicals which draw white blood cells causing inflammation, when the blocked follicles breaks down, it tip out everything into its surrounding skin which causes the pimples and some times nodules and cysts with certain conditions.
There are different types of problem found in acne, the basic one is called comedo (KOM-e-do) and also the most common one. A comedo which remains open on the surface of skin called open comedo or Blackheads because of it black color appears black on skin surface.
